Bite-sized Bolivia tours Travelling through Peru and Bolivia will give you a great impression of the culture and traditions of South America, from the Pacific coast all the way into the heart of the Andes. The two countries are connected by the ancient Inca route that runs along Lake Titicaca. Bolivia is the most traditional country in South America. The government here isn’t too bothered about investing in tourism which means you’ll be travelling along very bumpy roads and come across relatively few tourists. It’s all very authentic and at least for now, unspoilt.Make sure you plan plenty of time to explore Bolivia, and take a good look at our bite-sized Boliva tours. This country is very varied - one moment you’ll be wandering across a witch market in a thriving city high in the Andes, the next you’ll be racing across salt pans in a jeep or listening to squawking parrots deep in the Amazonian rainforest. If you'd rather leave the planning to us, take a look at our Peru and Bolivia holidays. The prices below are valid until 31st December 2012, are based on two people travelling and exclude international flights. Prices for departures beyond this date and for international flights are available on request. For departures during peak seasons (e.g. summer holidays, Christmas and New Year) supplements may apply. |

Easy Going La Paz
La Paz is located in the heart of the Andes at 3200m. It's the centre of the indigena Indian culture and along with the Machu Picchu in Peru, it's the heart of the Inca's heritage. When you arrive in La Paz, we'll arrange your airport transfer and first two nights' accommodation. The rest is up to you. If you're up to it, you can go for a walk and explore La Paz on your own. The altitude will force you to take it slow. During this Bolivia tour you'll stay at a cosy, colonial-style hotel within walking distance from the witch's market, the Plaza San Francisco and the Coca Museum. |

Searching through the silver mines
A short, but very impressive Bolivia tour to the highest city in the world, Potosi, combined with a trip into the the Cerro Rico (Rich Mountain) silver mines. The city's streets are filled with a colonial splendour that will take your breath away; although it might just be the altitude making you slightly out of breath (4090m). You'll join a guide as he takes you into the silver mine shafts and shows you just how hard life is for local miners. Miners are accustomed to seeing tourists in the mine and appreciate any food or water you're willing to share with them. |
