Peru and Bolivia accommodationWe go out of our way to find small-scale, authentic Peru accommodation that really reflects the local surroundings. This could be a traditional posada, a small hotel or a local guesthouse personally run by the owners. It could also be a colonial villa, a converted monastery, a finca (farm) or an Amazon jungle lodge. On Lake Titicaca, you can stay in a clay hut on an island in the middle of the lake, an eco lodge in the Sacred Valley, or a basic tent high in the Andes during your Inca Trail trek. |

We use a category system of 1 to 5 to rate our Peru accommodation. In general, you'll stay in Level 3 accommodation - comfortable, clean and full of local character. Level 3 accommodation is also well-located without being over-luxurious, and always has en-suite facilities. If you would like to stay in a different category of accommodation, please let us know. It should also be mentioned that our category ratings are not official star ratings. 1. Very basic accommodation Basic accommodation with limited facilities, for example camping during our multi-day treks. 2. Simple accommodation Simple, but reasonably comfortable. Private room with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Usually beautifully located with lots of local charm. |

3. Comfortable accommodation Bungalow or room with private bathroom. Usually authentic atmosphere and/or romantic location. Most of our accommodation falls into this category. 4. Very comfortable accommodation Spacious bungalow or room, stylishly decorated with extra facilities and higher level of comfort. This could be a historic hosteria or a luxury modern hotel. Our eco-lodge in Urumba falls into this category. 5. Luxury accommodation Spacious bungalow or room with luxury atmosphere, large bathroom, pool, sauna and extra facilities. |
