Easy Going Santa Cruz (de la Sierra)Santa Cruz is a popular trading town for locally grown produce like cotton, sugar cane, coffee, tobacco, rice, fruit, vanilla and corn. The area is also known for cattle breeding. Santa Cruz has a very colonial atmosphere, despite the many modern buildings in the city centre. The central Plaza is dominated by the huge cathedral, and nearby you’ll find the Museo Etno Folklorico and the El Arenal park. The Los Pozos market is a good place to hunt for souvenirs. With its 1.5 million inhabitants, Santa Cruz is a lively place that offers plenty in terms of cultural activities and nightlife. In the evening of your Santa Cruz trip, find a spot on one of the many shady benches on the Plaza and just watch the world go by. |
