Easy Going Lima

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: From £72 per person - based on 2 people sharing
Departure: Daily
Lima is the most obvious arrival point of your international flight from the UK. When you step off the plane feeling slightly bedraggled at the end of a long flight it’s nice to know you don’t need to worry about finding a hotel for the night. On the first night of your Peru tour, you'll be staying in a charming colonial casa in a leafy peaceful district, close to the sea and round the corner from restaurants, bars and the sights of Lima. Breathe in that typical Latino atmosphere and gaze in awe at the colonial palaces and cathedrals and get your first taste of Peruvian cuisine.

Peru tours: along the coast

Peru tours - Nazca tour

Coastal Road to Nazca

Duration: 5 days / 4 nights
Price: From £238 per person - based on 2 people sharing
Departure: Daily
Route: Lima - Huacachina - Islas Ballestas - Nazca - Arequipa
The coast of Peru has lots of hidden surprises in store. No mountains, Indian markets or jungle here, but instead you’ll see sea lions, a desert with giant sand dunes and mysterious figures etched into the hillside. All in all, it’s a fantastic way to discover a very unique area on your Peru holiday.
In four days, you’ll travel from Lima to Arequipa, stopping at Islas Ballestas to spot large colonies of sea lions, dolphins, lizards and hundreds of sea birds. From here, you’ll travel to the palm oasis of Huacachina where you can try sandboarding or buggy riding in the huge sand dunes if you fancy a bit of adventure on your Peru tour. From Nazca you can visit the pre-Inca burial grounds and book a scenic flight over the famous Nazca lines.

Sea lions and sand dunes

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: £225 per person - based on 2 people sharing
Departure: Daily
Route: Lima - Islas Ballestas - Huacachina - Arequipa
As an alternative to our Coastal road to Nazca, you can also travel a part of the route by private transport instead of by bus. Travelling by private car, you’ll be able to visit the sea lion colonies at Ballestas and travel on to the palm oasis Huacachina in one day. This Peru tour skips the Nazca lines (though if you’d like to include them just let us know and we’ll adjust your itinerary). In Huacachina, near Ica, you’ll be dropped off at your lodge under the palm trees. You can relax by the oasis, visit a local vineyard or try sandboarding in the giant dunes. On the second night of your Peru trip, you’ll take the overnight bus to Arequipa.

Peru tours: Lake Titicaca

Typically Titicaca

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: From £80 per person - based on 2 people sharing
Departure: Daily
Route: Puno - Uros - Taquile - Puno
A trip to Peru wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Lake Titicaca. At 3820m above sea level, it’s the world’s highest navigable lake. The best way to see Titicaca is by boat, a welcome change after all those long bus rides! After a night in Puno you’ll head out onto the lake by boat, returning to Puno for another night before continuing your Peru trip and travelling on to your next destination.

The first stop on the boat trip is the Uros Islands or Islas Flotantes, entirely built of floating reed. You’ll then sail on to Taquile Island, inhabited by native Indians. Here you’ll go on a walk across the terraced fields and stop for lunch at a local restaurant (try the fish, freshly from the lake). In the afternoon you’ll head back to Puno and as the sun sets across Titicaca the captain will navigate you through the floating reed fields into Puno harbour.

Machu Picchu holidays and treks to Machu Picchu

The ancient Inca city Machu Picchu and the breathtaking surrounding Sacred Valley will undoubtedly be the highlight of your Peru trip. You’ll be counting the days until you get to see the lost city looming up from the mist. Build up the excitement and take your time acclimatising in Cuzco for a couple of easy walks to get used to the altitude. Wander across the colourful markets and visit some of the nearby ruins for a taste of what’s in store.

Due to the overwhelming popularity and continuously changing regulations for the classic Inca Trail, we offer several alternative trails through the Andes in combination with a visit to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Just as spectacular, these Peru tours are just as thrilling but a lot quieter and with a lot less hassle. There are several multi-day treks, short hikes and even a comfortable option by private car with driver. Whatever takes your fancy.

Combining Peru with Bolivia

Add even more variety to your Latin American adventure by combining Peru with Bolivia. The two countries are connected by Lake Titicaca. Bolivia is the most traditional country in South America and also one of the most interesting. Far from the well-trodden tourist track you’ll travel Bolivia by train, bus and jeep across the breathtaking landscape of the Andean highlands to immense salt pans and the Amazonian rainforest. Plan plenty of time for this undiscovered Latin American gem and experience a close encounter with the hard-working, rosy-cheeked, bowler-hatted Bolivians.
